Settlement after Global Talent
The Global Talent route offers people with strong achievements in their field a chance to settle in the UK sooner. One of our recent cases shows how this can work in real life.
Client’s Background and Transition to Global Talent
Our client first arrived in the UK as a Skilled Worker. After settling here, he decided to explore the Global Talent route, as his background and accomplishments already met the criteria for endorsement. He was successfully endorsed and switched into the Global Talent category. By that point, he had already spent more than two years living in the UK, with only a short period on the Global Talent visa itself.
Residence Requirements for Settlement
A point that often surprises people is that you do not need to spend three full years on the Global Talent visa. What matters is that your total residence in the UK adds up to three years and that you hold Global Talent status at the time you apply for settlement. In his case, his time spent in the UK on the Skilled Worker visa counted towards the three-year requirement.
Settlement Application and Approval
We prepared his settlement application, presenting his achievements and meeting all the necessary evidence requirements. The Home Office approved the application the very next day, giving him immediate security and the ability to plan his future without uncertainty.
