SPOUSE VISA GRANTED FOR SELF-EMPLOYED APPLICANT

Recently, our immigration lawyer Tetiana Deren, assisted by paralegal Daria Kotkova, successfully secured a UK spouse visa for a client who was self-employed.
For applicants in standard employment, the evidence required to meet the financial requirement is usually straightforward, often relying on payslips, bank statements, and employer confirmation. For self-employed applicants, however, the process is more complex, as the financial threshold must be proven through a different and often larger set of documents.
In this case, the main objective was to demonstrate that the applicant met the financial requirement using the appropriate documentation for self-employment. While the evidence required was more extensive than in standard employment cases, the key point remained the same: demonstrating that the applicant clearly satisfied the requirements set by the Immigration Rules.
This case highlights that while financial requirements can be met through different means – whether employment, self-employment, savings, other sources of income, or their combination – the essential factor is providing the correct evidence. Collecting and presenting this evidence properly is crucial to securing a positive outcome. At Sterling Law, we assist clients in navigating these complexities to ensure their applications are fully supported.
