A successful case in obtaining a British citizenship for a client from Uzbekistan or how long the Home Office can carry out checks
The Home Office delayed the consideration of the application for a year (more than doubling the time normally allowed for consideration), as a result of the hard work of Alexandra Mokrova, an immigration lawyer at Sterling Law, many complaints and chasings were filed in the case, which made it possible to achieve final success in this matter.
There were several variables in the case that increased the consideration time: 1. During the application period, there was a crisis in the UK, which was caused not only by the change of the Prime Minister but also by regular strikes of working labour, in particular from the transport sector. 2. A request was made to the Embassy of Uzbekistan to clarify information on the place of birth, in particular the spelling. This second issue may sound like an odd scenario, but this is a case that confirms the meticulousness required in the preparation of any materials when working with the migration services.
It is worth noting that our client was married to an EU citizen, on which basis she obtained settlement (or permanent residence) in the UK which is one of the key requirements for British citizenship.
